今回、私たち UNION は「裏原宿」にフォーカス。現代において、ストリートカルチャーと呼ばれている文化は、この東京の街で志を持った若いクリエイターたちによっ て礎が形づくられた。「裏原宿」は単なるエリアや場所を示す名詞ではなく、1990年代初頭に生まれたムーブメントそのものを指す言葉となった。そして90年代に始 まったその潮流は、やがて世界的なカルチャーへと拡がっていく。そんな時代にクリス・ギブスと藤原ヒロシは出会い、以降数十年に渡り互いのクリエイションに影 響を与え続けている。URAHARA STITCH は、東京とロサンゼルスのあいだで紡がれてきた、長年に渡るカルチャー交流を表す言葉なのだ。2026年、そんな対話を基 に UNION INSTITUTE（ユニオン・インステイチュート）と題し、 URAHARA STITCH を表現する。Air Jordan 1 Union x Fragment コレクションがここに登場。
This year, we look to Ura-Harajuku -- the Tokyo neighborhood where ambitious young creatives laid the foundation for what the world now recognizes as streetwear. More than a place, Urahara became shorthand for a movement born in the early 1990s. What began in the 90’s became a global cultural moment. It was during this period that Chris Gibbs and Hiroshi Fujiwara first met, forming a bond that continues to shape their work decades later.The Urahara Stitch reflects years of cultural exchange between Tokyo and Los Angeles.
